THE SICK:
Well, Tis the season for the flu..
Seppi woke up Monday night laying in a pile of vomit, and his pants loaded with diarrhea. I cleaned him up only to have him throw up again and again, everytime right after I cleaned him up. We were up from 2:30- about 4 am.
The weirdest thing about this is that during the day he'd eat and play like a normal non-sick little guy. so weird.
He woke up again Tuesday night an almost identical story 3 times all right after I cleaned everything up. But this time from 11-12:30. Thankfully he slept through the night after that.
Wednesday night (last night) was a beautiful thing, We slept like Rock Stars! He woke up at 4:30 crying saying "Mommy, I need YOU" over and over again. I came in thinking the worst, but found everything smelling and looking clean! He just lost his binki and needed his Mommy to help him! He really is such a sweet heart. After the last two nights I found this to be no big deal, I gave him a binki and rocked him for a while and we all went back to bed.
I have learned a few things from this experience.
1- you can never be too prepared when it comes to vomit!
2- always keep a few extra blankets and burp rags or towels by the rocking chair at night! just in case.
3- You can not expect an almost 2 year old to EVER throw up in the toilet or in a plastic bowl by his bed... Ha Ha
4- Even though this was not the easiest few days, I found myself soaking up all of the snuggles and sweet moments when I was needed because I know someday I won't be the one he runs to when he needs something, although I hope I still have many more moments like that to come!
THE BROKEN:
Mike broke his collar bone last Thursday (a week ago today). He has been a trooper, but he is still in a lot of pain. There is nothing I can do to help him, and I hate being helpless. I've been doing double duty trying to make sure Mike is comfortable and taking care of a little sick boy. I've been trying SO hard, doing extra laundry, doing all the dishes, doing most if not all of the cooking, going to work etc, etc, etc.
He bumped into the door last night, and I swear everything his body did to heal over the week was ruined, he was in so much pain. Its been hard for him to go to school and do any of his labs because its his right collar bone and he's in PT school and everything is literally hands on.
Thankfully his professors and people at school have been so good about it and Mike is even able to take his practical exam after he heals. P.T. school seriously is so great! Such wonderful people.
Things I learned so far from this the last week:
1- it doesn't matter if I get to everything on my list, (all the cleaning and grocery shopping and whatever...) What matters is to just be there for the ones you love when they need you, the rest of the JUNK will fall into place.
THE LONELY:
Through all of this (this week) I have found myself a little lonely. I know this sounds silly but Mike has been sleeping on the couch for a week now (because he can't lay down on his back because of his broken collar bone) and even though its just sleep and you aren't really coherent during those hours, I really miss him next to me. I'm in this HUGE Bed all alone! I miss him...
Here is to the weekend (my weekend starts on Thursday evening!!) and to a new fresh week hopefully full with lessons that aren't as hard to learn!!!

Corie, I just love you! Thanks for coming to visit me on the eve of your weekend after such a HARD week (and when you could have been putting your feet up or something else)! You're amazing. And I loved how real this post was. Way to be such a great mom, wife, and friend!
So sad but so funny. It literally made me laugh out loud while I am all by myself. I'm sorry it wasn't such a great week. It sure makes you appreciate the good ones though.
