In the middle of July we took a few days off of work and went on a much needed adventure. We went backpacking in Zions to a place called Parunaweap. Stacy and Jake came with us (Corie's sister and brother-in-law). We drove all night on Thursday after work and got to the BLM land just outside of Zions around midnight. On Friday Morning we went into Zions and started our journey.
When we arrived to our destination for the night we were right by the East Fork of the Virgin River and set up camp. We were happy, to say the least, to get our bodies wet after that strenuous hike!
The next day we did a day hike to a slot canyon called "Fat Man's Misery" this was the highlight of the whole trip. This slot canyon was full of many cavernous rooms and as we went into each room there was either a large drop, a repel or a waterfall to get to it. It was awesome!
At the end of the day hike we spent some time rolling and exfoliating in the mud!
This was Stacy's first attempt at backpacking and boy did we pick a hard one for her, but she did awesomely! We all had a really great time!
